Jim Davis has spent more than 40 years in law enforcement, holding positions from police officer and deputy sheriff to police chief and sheriff. During his career, he has also designed, developed, and taught law enforcement anti-bias, active shooter, management, supervisory, and de-escalation courses.
His career consists of instructing at two different law enforcement academies, instructing officers from numerous states, and taking anti-bias training to four different states. While working as police chief at the University of Nebraska Kearney, Jim was awarded the Chancellor’s Medallion for work on campus during COVID.
His education includes a B.A. and B.S. in criminal justice from Purdue University and a doctorate in management from Colorado Technical University. He has also attended several courses in management and instructional development as well as hostage negotiation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
