Joe Coyle is a sergeant with the City of Philadelphia Police Department with 36 years of service in law enforcement. He has served in patrol units, the transit unit, and the Marine unit. Sergeant Coyle is an instructor at the Advanced Training Unit and has served two terms as treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. As part of the board, Sergeant Coyle was an integral part of a team that negotiated two contracts for all members of the City of Philadelphia Police Department. He has the unique experience of both being a manager and representing labor.
Sergeant Coyle earned his Bachelor of Science degree in organizational leadership. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Northwestern University School of Police Command.
Sergeant Coyle has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 32 years, and they have 3 adult children, Colin, Grace, and Joe.
