Jonathan Rosnick brings over 20 years of experience in public safety and law enforcement to his role as Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. Previously, he served as the Director of Campus & Public Safety and Chief of Police at Washington & Jefferson College, where he modernized safety initiatives, expanded the department, implemented progressive policies and training, and introduced cutting-edge technology.
Before his time in higher education, Chief Rosnick held an executive position at the world’s largest security firm, leading a team of several hundred professionals. His extensive career began with the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department, where he served in various operational and investigative roles, earning the US Department of Justice Award for Public Service for his dedicated work as a child abuse detective.
Chief Rosnick earned his bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Wheeling Jesuit University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public safety at the University of Virginia. He is a proud graduate of the Department of Homeland Security’s Leadership Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
A certified instructor in multiple disciplines, Chief Rosnick emphasizes the importance of ongoing training and education. He is honored to facilitate leadership development for both emerging and seasoned police leaders through Penn State's Justice and Safety Institute.
