Chief Matthew Rodrigue brings over 26 years of experience as a Texas peace officer to his role as a professional instructor and law enforcement leader. He dedicated the first 14 years of his career to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office before being appointed Chief Deputy of the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office in 2012.
Chief Rodrigue is a graduate of the Constable’s Leadership College (LEMIT, Class #3) and the Leadership Command College (LEMIT, Class #86). He is also a proud recipient of the Trilogy Leadership Award from the FBI–Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. Furthering his leadership credentials, he completed the Chief Executive Leadership Program at the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and a master’s degree in strategic leadership and crisis management. In addition, he is a TCOLE Master Peace Officer, reflecting the highest level of certification in Texas law enforcement.
Chief Rodrigue’s supervisory experience spans a broad range of law enforcement operations, including patrol, K9, narcotics interdiction, field training, warrants, civil process, internal affairs, training academy, court operations, and agency administration.
As an instructor, he has served on the faculty of the Texas Justice Court Training Center at Texas State University and the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State University, bringing his extensive leadership and operational expertise into the classroom.
